The Do Not Enter Diaries: Alex P.

DNED: Alex P. from The Do Not Enter Diaries on Vimeo.

“Bite the bullet and get to know yourself,” Alex urges. And unabashedly donning a dashiki, Alex does just that.  In all forms, Alex’s bedroom is really a space where music lives—whether it’s being played for fun, recorded, or mixed. Alex even hangs up artwork from his favorite albums on his wall, because to him, the covers are just as important to the music’s vibe as the notes themselves. He hangs them up in a vertical fashion, so as to create a sort of floating headboard effect. Atop his desk, another form of art that finds its way in Alex’s room are the various graffiti tags he uses, including “Buy More Things,” a satirical stab at consumerism. Above all, Alex and his room are about being bold, and getting to know oneself. He’s not afraid to experiment with different aesthetics, even if it means trying on the wrong one along the way.
